First Friday's In Lancaster
The first Friday of each month the arts come alive in Lancaster. Over 60 art galleries and shops stay open till 9:00 PM, some later. Stroll the sidewalks of downtown Lancaster and enjoy the many art shops as well as many unique owner/operated boutiques. Music, food and fun can be had by all. This popular event draws a crowd so the streets are busy with activities. There is a trolley available to ride from 6:30 - 9 PM running 20 minute loops around the core of downtown. Our local Volunteer Fire Companies raise funds each year through auctions. Because many of these items are sold outside during the spring, these auctions have affectionately become known as "mud sales." Items sold vary widely from auction to auction and have been donated or can be consignment merchandise. Items for these auctions often include: quilts, building materials, tools, garden items, furniture, craft items, livestock, buggies and much more! These auctions run throughout the spring. Brewer's Tour Package
Lancaster was once rich with beer breweries. Lancaster at one time accounted for 7% of all beer produced in the US. Today there is only one brewery, Lancaster Brewing Company. The brewer's tour package includes a personalized tour of the brewery, a $30 gift certificate towards your dinner, two pint glasses from the brewery, two bottles of Lancaster Brewing Company beer, a LCB bottle opener and a $5 coupon for merchandise at the brewery.
